Nike Maxsight tinted contact lenses at Sanders Contacts

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve been a contact wearer ever since I was about 20 years old. I’ve tried a lot of brands, that I’ve purchased through opticians offices and Eye wear stores. It’s only recently, perhaps in the last year or so that I’ve begun to purchase contacts online.

In the past I’ve usually stuck with my favorite tried and true contact lenses but I think that this time round I might try the new Nike MaxSight Contacts from SandersContacts.com. These new contacts from Nike are tinted to eliminate glare and increase contrast.

There are different colors or rather tints of the Nike MaxSight Sport contact lenses. The grey green tinted ones are supposedly better for golfers, runners and those who tend to be outdoors in bright sunlight. Then there are amber tinted contacts that are designed for sports like soccer, tennis, baseball, football and other sports that require tracking a fast ball.

The lenses are on sale right now – about $2 off per box or a $10 rebate if you purchase four boxes of lenses at Sanders Contacts.

Sanders appears to be a good company to deal with. They have free shipping offers and ship new orders quickly, as well as having sales and rebates on various products or brands. They also accept all major credit cards so it’s quite easy to make a purchase from the company.

Check out the site and this new type of contact. I know I’m going to! Don’t be surprised if you see me wearing new tinted lenses soon. I hate wearing sunglasses so this is perfect!

My sunglasses are scratched!

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

I need a new pair of sunglasses!

I have a really nice pair that I bought a few years ago. I keep them in a glass case but somehow they’ve still managed to get a few scratches on them and I hate wearing scratched sunglasses.

I’m thinking of getting either designer sunglasses or maybe even motorcycle sunglasses. I haven’t decided yet.

Sometime on the weekend I’ll go shopping and spend some time trying on sunglasses in an eyewear store so I can see which style looks best on me.

How about you? Do you hate wearing scratched sunglasses?

Still trying to figure out our basement reno

May 28, 2007 by Tricia

Have you ever redecorated your home? If you have you’ll know that it’s both a joy and a pain in the butt to pick out new home furniture. I’ve been spending what little free time I have looking at furniture related websites, or pouring through catalog’s trying to find the perfect furniture for our basement when we finish our remodeling job.

We have a couch in the basement now that I’d like to keep. It’s a sectional with two captains chair that have nice leg rest, and the longer part of the couch pulls out into a double bed. The double bed is of course the real reason why I’d like to keep the couch.

We do have two spare bedrooms upstairs, but we are hoping to have a child. So, if that works out, at most we’ll have one spare bedroom. It’s always nice to have extra space for people to sleep if they come to visit and we do tend to have a lot of visitors.

So I’m trying to plan our basement reno so that the main part of the basement will be like a den, but because of the pullout couch it could double as a temporary bedroom. When we had boarders I had been thinking about renovating the basement and sectioning off one small part of our tiny basement to use as a bedroom but I think I’ll keep the space as open as possible.

My other idea is to perhaps get a Murphy bed. Murphy beds are ones that fold up into the wall and can look like a nice storage cabinet when not in use. I think I’d have to get a sideways model though if we went that route because our basement ceiling is very low and I don’t think a standing regular murphy bed would work down there at all.

See … planning on refurnishing a room can be interesting … but when you have lots of different ideas about how a room could be used it can take up a lot of your time!

Getting calls from Marketers

May 28, 2007 by Tricia

Did you get a lot of calls from market research companies and others soliciting their goods or services?

We used to, but here in Canada you can put your name on a special list (sorry I don’t have the website address) to get removed from a lot of the major marketing lists.

I did that about four years ago and the calls dramatically decreased. I have noticed lately thought that we’re getting more calls. I think I’ll find the address for that site and add our names to it again. Maybe we got bumped off or your “don’t call us” level drops after a while.

Is there anything like that in the US? I know our Canadian list is something provided by the government. I really wish I had the site address as I’d be able to explain it better. Oh well.

Upgrade computer or buy a new one?

May 22, 2007 by Tricia

I think it’s time to upgrade our old computer that we keep upstairs. I think we bought it in 1998. Maybe we should just scrap it instead of putting money into upgrading it? I don’t know.

The only reason we are keeping it is because we occasionally take on a boarder and when we do it’s nice for them to have a computer in their room. Even if it is old, clunky and slow! Plus, if the boarder or guest were to do something to mess up the computer I’d rather it be the old one that I don’t really care about rather than one that I use daily!

If we upgrade the computer we definitely need to get some more memory for it. We need to get IBM memory since it’s an IBM computer. Arghh … It also needs major software upgrades, but because it has a slower processor we can’t upgrade the Windows XP any further than we already have, and I’m sure some of the other software that we could upgrade on it won’t work either.

It really is sounding more and more like we need a new spare computer doesn’t it?
