I’m sitting here rockin’ out to an old 70’s song. Do you remember ” Ol Black Betty” bam a lam … I guess you could say I’m doing the computer chair boogie?
I just want to get away for a little while. Leave any worries I might have behind and have some fun! I think this summer, not only will we have a nice little get away in a rental place somewhere, but I’d like to go camping or stay in some nice wilderness cabins.
I miss camping and getting out into the great outdoors. I miss canoing too. I’ve got to get into my canoe this year. I didn’t last year and I miss that so much.
Are you a camper?

I’ve been so tired the last few weeks. I don’t know if it’s the Crohn’s or just that I have a horrible sleeping pattern. I think I’m not only going to attempt to get my sleeping pattern back on track – again, but I’m going to try to get some more fruit into my diet.
Our strawberries are flowering in the garden, and our raspberry plants are already four feet tall! However, they don’t yet have any fruit. I do have quite a bit of frozen fruit in the freezer though – some from last years crops, as well as fruit that I bought when it was in season – peaches! – and froze. So I think I might pull out that lovely Magic Bullet Blender of ours and make some fruit smoothies. I call them my Energy Drink because they are just so loaded with vitamins and other goodness.
Do you have any creations of your own that you make when you need a pick me up or when you are dieting?

Muscari or Grape Hyacinths:
I can’t believe how much all of the plants in my garden have grown this past week or so.
I’m starting to think that it’s not just the nice weather that we’ve been having, nor the fact that our winter was fairly mild. No, I think it’s because many of the plants that I grow have been in my garden for four or five years so they are maturing and have good root systems so they are just growing in leaps and bounds because they are so strong.
The photo above is of Muscari. Yes the closest one is a bit blurry but you try taking photos of flowers in my windy backyard garden and see how you do! LOL I took that photo about two weeks ago. The muscari is pretty much gone now – gone to seed actually. I have to go out and cut off the old flowers so that they don’t drain the bulbs strength.
How’s your garden coming along this year?

On Monday, as I came back from a doctors appointment we ran into our new and apparently temporary mailman. It turns out he’s an old acquaintance. He’s the ex-boyfriend of one of the guys that I work with in the ER.
We’ve had the two over to our house several times, but since I’ve been stuck at home sick I hadn’t seen either of them for quite a while. Talking to M about the get togethers we’d had in the past got me thinking about his ex’s strange drinking habits.
You see, B, as I’ll call him, used to enjoy drinking a concoction that was half beer and half Clamato juice! I can’t remember if I ever dared to even have a sip. Doesn’t that just sound awful!
Other than getting some extra vitamins from the Clamato juice the only benefit that I can think of to drink such a thing would be that it would make a great hang over preventer, or if you drank it the morning after a night of partying it could probably be considered one of those wild hangover cures because I’m sure all the salt in the Clamato juice must help prevent dehydration while drinking, and it’s the dehydration the morning after that usually makes you feel so awful.
I don’t tend to drink all that much these days, but if I ever do over do it, perhaps I’ll try B’s mix the day after and see if it helps.
What crazy hangover cures have you come across or tried?
