Tastes and smells delicious

This weeks theme is Smelly

Grilled potatoes and veggies and Cat Fish

This weeks photo hunt theme is Smelly and what better photo to use today than a picture of grilled rainbow trout with a mix or grilled potatoes and veggies. The potato veggie mix includes peppers, onion, and whole garlic gloves. Yum!

Yes this meal can be a little smelly. Luckily we cook it outside on the grill so the kitchen doesn’t smell of fish and garlic.

I wonder how many people posted photos of smelly food today?

I love my daisies

October 10, 2007 by Tricia

I just love daisies. They look like such a simple flower, yet they brighten up a garden and give reliable blooms from late July until early autumn.

I grow my daisies beside white phlox and pink roses. Well, that’s where I planted the main clump, but they’ve spread over time and I have several clumps growing throughout an 8 foot area now.

Do you grow daisies?

Strangely warm weather keeps us supplied with berries

Can you believe this? It’s October already and look what’s still producing delicious fruit in my backyard …

Yummy raspberries ripening on the vine.

There are so many berries that I can still go out and pick enough for my husband and I to enjoy at least every three days or so.

The raspberry bushes have been producing raspberries since as early as mid-July, which is early for raspberries in these parts. They usually don’t start producing ripe fruit until mid-August or so.

Yesterday the humidity here in Toronto was so high that we had our air conditioning on. It was only in the mid-20’s Celsius wise (72 – 75 F) but the humidity made if feel much warmer and made us feel sticky and wiped out. So on went the air conditioning.

Normally at this time of year it’s not uncommon for our furnace to have come on at least once or twice on a few cold evenings or nights. So far our furnace has been silent. We’ve either had windows open to let nice fresh air in the house, fans on or as I said above we’ve even had the air conditioning on. It’s getting ridiculous as I don’t believe I’ve ever had air conditioning on in October.

At the Beach

Where I’d love to be right now.

I took this photo in early September while at the beach here in Toronto. I need to just chill out right now since I’m not really a very happy camper at the moment so the beach looks pretty good.

Petunias still blooming away!

One last look at the lovely purple petunias before they start to die down as it cools here in Toronto.

Petunias are such and easy flower to grow. They look good in a hanging basket or planter on their own or combined with other flowers such as snapdragons, spikes, small hosta, and annual geraniums (Pelargonium).

I’ve found that butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds enjoy petunias as well.

BTW if you want to see a beautiful rose please visit my photoblog Breath of Life Photography.

Update – wow, I was dozing when I made this post. Two weeks later I finally realize I never gave it a title! Duh!
