Wordless Wednesday
Yes I know I’m behind.
It’s Thursday and this is my Wordless Wednesday (not so wordless) post! Oh well.
I love Astilbe when it flowers.
I’m not that enthused with it when it’s not flowering as it’s just a small clump of green leaves. However, when those shoots come up out of the leaves and flowers form I think Astilbe is quite a pretty plant.
Wordless Wednesday
I wish tulips lasted longer in the garden or rebloomed in the fall instead of only blooming once in the Spring. They are so pretty.
I grow a number of different types of tulips but I think these ones are my second favorite type of all. My favorite of course is the fringed tulips!
I brought our small hibiscus indoors about two weeks ago since it’s starting to get cold here. Actually tonights the first night that I’ve noticed it reach below zero! Brrr!
My hibiscus is happily upstairs in a sunny bedroom with all the other tropical plants and vines.
Each winter I cross my fingers that all these plants survive. Just being indoors doesn’t mean they’ll make it. They have to get used to being indoors in a drier environment again and then there’s pests like spider mites and white fly to contend with.
Well, whether my hibiscus survives or not it sure does produce beautiful flowers doesn’t it?

This weeks theme is I loved Chicago
I know I’m just back from Las Vegas, but I was busy and I was sick while I was there so while I enjoyed the city … well the strip I mean, I didn’t get a really good feel for the town. Chicago, on the other hand, which I visited last year, I managed to get a really good feel for and I just loved that city!
I found Chicago to be very much like the city I live in – Toronto. Yes of course there are major differences, but there are also a lot of similarities. I felt very comfortable there as I explored the downtown area. I’d definitely return to Chicago for another visit!
Wordless Wednesday
My husbands quite a character as a lot of bloggers found out when we were in Vegas this past week. Above is a photo of him Schmoozing it up with Heather from Beautiful BC and her daughter Crystal.
As if that weren’t enough he got real close and in your face with Heather
And then flirted with her daughter Crystal too!
What a guy!
Oh and in case your wondering – he’s like this all the time! He’s quite a character to live with!
I seem to have a number of photos of Heather with two drinks in her hands. Must have been a tough flight. Perhaps she was de-stressing? 🙂
