I would not want to clean this mess up

April 27, 2010 by Tricia

Dog and cat make a big mess in the house!

OMG … if this was my dog that had made this mess I think I’d be really mad. LOL

Can you imagine coming home to find out that your cat and dog had fun all day ripping up a case of toilet paper or maybe paper towels? Who knows what else they got into that day too … it certainly looks like there’s at least two rooms to clean up!

I think I’d rather search all day long for the best acne treatment rather than deal with that mess! LOL

My dog has only made little messes … like the one time she got a hold of the fake fur collar on my winter coat and bit some tufts of fake fur off of it … nothing like this!

Have you ever come home to a mess like this thanks to your cat, dog or maybe even your kid?

Enjoying the nice weather

April 16, 2010 by Tricia

I’m so happy that winter is finally over! Not that our winter was all that bad. We had a much much warmer than normal winter with almost zero snow. Pretty rare for most of Canada!

My garden is looking spectacular already … It’s about a month ahead of itself in growth! I think that if my husband I start to feel better this weekend (we’ve have some kind of bug) maybe we’ll pull out our patio furniture so that we can enjoy some of this nice weather and get the outdoor season started.

I guess we’ll be getting invitations to outdoor BBQ’s and things like that a little earlier this year too. I know that I’d love to have our first garden/backyard get together soon – if this good weather holds up!

How’s the weather in your area? Are you ready to get out in your backyard and start barbecuing and doing other summer like activities soon too?

Just when I thought my back was getting better

April 6, 2010 by Tricia

My darn back is out again. It was doing good for a few months, but I over did it in the garden this weekend and wouldn’t you know it my back started aching again.

It figures.

I’d love to go to a chiropractor or get a massage. I think that would help my back a lot, but since I’ve been on medical leave from work for a few years I no longer have health benefits (although I’m technically still employed). I actually started looking for health insurance earlier today at insurancespecialists.com and a few other places. Unfortunately I still can’t really afford it. You know … considering that I’m not really working.

Maybe I can talk my husband in to giving me a massage when he gets home from work? Uh huh .. he’ll probably think that will lead to other things. LOL

What do you do for your back when it’s aching?

We had a scare with our dog today

April 2, 2010 by Tricia

It was really nice here in Toronto today. So nice that when my husband and I were planning on going outside to do some work on our front yard we decided to let our dog sit in the enclosed front porch to watch us work.

We had a scare though.

When my husband opened the screen door our dog ran out of the house! This has only happened once before and luckily, just as she did the one time it happened before she ran onto the sidewalk and then into our driveway towards the backyard.

Sigh of relief!

If she’d run out into the street I think I’d be doing some doggy funeral planning right now. We live on a very busy street and I’d hate to think of what might have happened if she’d run in front of a car.

Our Lab, Midnight is usually pretty good about listening to us. I tell her to sit and stay when I’m opening the outer screen door and she does. I do however usually keep my hand close to her collar so that I can grab her if she decides not to stay put, but she always does. I think what happened today was that my husband forgot to tell her to say and since he’s the one that walks her most often I think she just thought she was going out with him.

Anyway, I’m relieved that my dog is safe.

Have you had any close calls with your dog getting out of the house?

What’s with all the nice cars in my area?

April 2, 2010 by Tricia

When my husband and I were outside working in the front yard earlier today, enjoying the beautiful weather, I couldn’t believe how many really nice cars I saw driving by.

I saw not one, but three different Ferrari’s and a few Porches too! I live in a decent neighborhood (you’d never know it the way I’ve been talking about the bad renters next door) but it’s not THAT nice. LOL

Also, one of the Ferrari’s that drove by a few times is actually owned by a guy that works in the hospital with my husband. Not the guy isn’t a top guy at the hospital either … we think he owns several buildings and perhaps that’s how he an afford such a nice car.

As much as I loved seeing the nice cars driving past us I certainly wouldn’t want to see the auto insurance quotes for a Ferarri! I’ll bet it’s more per year than our car cost us to buy!

Anyway I don’t know why there were so many nice cars driving by my house today … maybe everyone else was out enjoying the great weather like we were, but I was surprised!
