Drug Rehab

June 13, 2007 by Tricia

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned in this blog that I’m a nurse. I’m actually an ER nurse. I probably don’t have to tell you that I see people at their worst. It just breaks my heart at times when I see someone that could possibly turn their life around come in time after time with drug overdoses. I wish we could get them all to go to rehab.

If you know someone that has a drug addiction try your best to get them to go into rehab. Better yet, if you can, you might want to read about the drug detox program at Stone Hawk and try to get the person in need of help into their drug rehab program. It sounds like they have come up with a well though out treatment plan.

It actually sounds like many of the people who currently work at Stone Hawk were once addicts themselves. Who better to understand what someone who’s addicted to drugs and who might be undergoing detox is going through than a former addict who’s been through all the stages themselves?

If you know someone in need of drug rehab take a moment to visit the site and get more information.

Got new sheets for all the beds!

June 11, 2007 by Tricia

I went shopping earlier today to get some new sheets for our beds. I haven’t purchased new bed linens since we moved in so I thought it was about time to get some new sheets.

I’m actually fairly picky about our bed sheets. I like sheets that have a high thread count as they last longer and often feel more comfortable to sleep in.

One of the little shops that I ended up going into was fantastic. It was like hitting the jackpot. They had everything from bed sets, kids bedding, and sheets for all bed sizes in many different materials and patterns. All of the quality that I wanted.

I ended up walking out of the store with new sheets for our queen, double and twin beds! It wasn’t cheap but I know I purchased quality items that will last a long time so I’m ok with what I ended up spending.

Are you picky about what you sleep in or do you care?

Idiot neighbors finally quieted down

June 11, 2007 by Tricia

My neighbors finally quieted down on Saturday night. I still didn’t end up getting much sleep though. I was so mad that they had destroyed my evening! I swear they were so loud with their awful Karaoke music that it almost seemed like they were inside my house.

The next time we buy a house it will not be a semi-detached. There’s nothing much wrong with semi-detached homes, but if you have noisy neighbors you can often hear them through the walls. Now I live in an old well built house … I really shouldn’t be able to hear my neighbors through a couple of feet of brick and plaster should I? I do though so that means they are extremely loud!

I guess we’re going to have to have a talk with them this week. They already know that we can hear their music and singing. We’ve even brought them inside our house when they had their music up loud and they agreed that it was outrageously loud.

So I have to think that they don’t care how noisy they are since they know how loud they are – they’ve heard themselves!

The neighbors are practically coming through my wall

June 9, 2007 by Tricia

My neighbors are driving me nuts. They are provoking me. Soon, I’ll be able to plead insanity or mental cruelty if I end up doing anything that’s against the law.

I’m talking about my karaoke neighbors. They can’t sing worth a shit and play the karaoke music so loud that it makes my walls … and my head vibrate.

I can’t get them to answer the phone or respond to me.

I’m literally banging on the walls to try to get their attention.

I’m not going over there because I truly am afraid of what I’ll do. Honest.

I don’t mind that they are having a party but keep it down at least a little would ya? Are they the only people allowed to have a Saturday evening?

Idiots! idiots, idiots, idiots! Grrrrrrrr

Strange weather

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

Man, we just had a huge storm roll through the area.

My mother in law called about an hour ago – she lives outside of Toronto and she said that big old trees were down on the streets and that she had a hard time getting home because of all the damage to the trees from the wind.

I would not be surprised at all to hear that a tornado rolled through the area!

It was 31 C (88F) when the storm hit but it dropped down to 19 Celsius, 70 F or so, now. That’s more than a 10 degree drop! Unfortunately it’s still extremely humid!

When we get hot humid weather like this we almost always have a big chance of a violent storm.
