If you enjoy rustic decor visit Tres Amigos Furniture

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

I live in an older home. It was built in the 1920’s so it has lots of beautiful hardwood – door frames, flooring and so on. I’ve tried to balance the look of my home by combining both modern and antique/rustic decor styles. So far I think I’ve been quite successful in creating a unique look for my home.

Of course I’m always on the lookout for the perfect item for my home that will add to or compliment the look I’ve created. So I’m quite happy to have discovered Tres Amigos Furniture. They have a wide selection of Rustic Furniture to choose from as well as rustic hardware such as door or cupboard hinges to complete what ever look you are going for in your home.

You’ll find everything from rustic wall decor to mirrors, to Southwestern Furniture, mirrors, textiles, pottery, rustic hardware, handmade jewelry, hand painted tiles, rustic candles and a whole lot more. Tres Amigos are apparently the largest rustic and Spanish colonial style furniture retailer anywhere!

Many of their items are made by hand and some are even one of a kind so their inventory and selection is constantly changing. All of their furniture is 100% solid wood and no two pieces are exactly the same. You’ve really got to take a look.

Tres Amigos Furniture is considered a Wholesale Furniture retailer and they have a guarantee that states that if you find an item for less elsewhere they will beat the price. You can’t beat that now can you?

If you appreciate the look of rustic furniture and decor you’ve got to visit Tres Amigos.

I hope we renovate our basement soon

October 24, 2007 by Tricia

Yesterday I was invited to enter into a special partnership with a company that calls itself a private online shopping club. I decided to take the company up on it’s offer and join as there seems to be some benefits to me such as big discounts on trendy clothing and high quality furniture if I were interested in buying as well as referral fees.

As I was looking around the site I saw some beautiful leather home theater seating, similar to a few of the sets shown on that page.

It caught my eye because when we get around to finishing our basement I think we might set it up as a home theater. Right now we’ve got our big screen HD TV in the living room, but I have other plans for the joined living room dining room and it’s always been our plan to move the TV downstairs. So why not really do it up and create a beautiful home theater room?

I know our renovation is probably a year or more in the future, but I can’t help trying to plan ahead of time!

Window shopping

October 11, 2007 by Tricia

My husband took yesterday off because he had to have a doctors appointment. Normally he wouldn’t do that, but he really needed to see the doctor about something so he got someone to cover his shift at work.

After his doctors appointment we voted in the Ontario Provincial election. Yes it’s that time of year again when those of us from Ontario must vote for a new provincial leader. As it turns out it looks like the same politician will be running things for another four years. Ah … but that’s another story for another time.

After we did our civic duty by voting we decided to go grocery shopping. Believe it or not, since I’ve been so sick lately Chris has been doing all the shopping. He does ok, but he always forgets something and he needs a few lessons in how to pick ripe fruit. Put it this way – I was tired of him bringing home plums that were too hard to eat and had no hope of ripening!

So we went grocery shopping and also visited a home store while we were out.

I didn’t buy anything at the home store, but I did have a good look around. I’m always trying to get new ideas for our home since we are in the midst of major renovations. I can’t wait until all of our projects are finished so that I can decorate!

I like looking at everything from wall hangings and picture frames to Murray Feiss light fixtures, throw blankets and side tables and so on and so on … You see, I think I know how I want to decorate the living room and dining room when we are finished renovating, but I like to re-enforce my ideas when I’m in a store that sells furnishings and accessories for the home.

Do you do that? Do you like window shopping for home decor?

More waste in health care

September 21, 2007 by Tricia

I haven’t been to my workplace in ages. When I first got sick I used to drop in every now and then to see my friends from work. However I haven’t even had any appointments in the hospital at all lately so I haven’t been there for a long time. Maybe even a whole year.

About a year before I got sick they were putting all new counters, reception and office desks in the ER. The counters weren’t built all the well. There weren’t enough electrical outlets for all our equiptment and the ones that were there had a hard to move cover over them. So much for quickly plugging in a pulse oximeter or blood pressure monitor to recharge!

Well, now they are completely renovating the ER. Expanding it too. So I suppose all the work that was done two or three years ago was for nothing! What a waste of money.

I’ll have to make a point of dropping in for a visit again soon. I miss the job and my co-workers.

The lap of luxury

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

If you enjoy looking at luxury homes you’ve got to go and visit my home and gardening site. I wrote a post yesterday about a luxury home that’s built on a golf course and I included several photos.

The house is for sale, but it’s way out of my price range at 2.5 million! Unless I win the lottery I’ll never be able to own a home like that, but I can dream!

Can you imagine living on a golf course? I’m not a huge fan of golf, but I know my husband would love to play the game more often. I’m sure he wouldn’t be opposed to living on or near a golf course. I’ve seen him browsing sites like Callaway golf in the past so I know he wants to play more often than he has been.

I’ve gone off course. My whole point was that if you want to see a beautiful home go and read the post I wrote on As the Garden Grows. You can even see a virtual tour of the house! Wow, wow, wow and drool!
