Great deals on electronics at TechBargains

November 27, 2007 by Tricia

The holidays will be here soon and if you are like me you’ve started to shop and you’re probably watching for sales and bargains so that you can get some great gifts for your family and friends.

You might want to check out Techbargains.com. They have all kinds of deals on electronics such as HDTVs, GPS systems, cheap digital camera, iPods, LCD displays, Notebooks, cell phones and many other products that would make ideal gifts.

TechBargains has exclusive deals coming out all the time. If you really want to get a bargain it would be in your best interest to sign up for their email deal alert which you can customize to fit your interests. By this I mean that when you sign up for email deal alerts you can add keywords or pick a specific category and when deals come up for products in those categories or that match your keywords you’ll get an alert.

There’s also an email newsletter each week that highlights the best deals of the week.

Other ways to keep an eye on deals and bargains at TechBargains would be to subscribe to their RSS feed or visit their webpage using your mobile phone. You can even sign up for their mobile RSS feed if you prefer to use your cellphone to keep track of potential deals on great tech products.

I like that the site is constantly updated. They even do updates on weekends and holidays so no matter when you check the site you can find some new bargains.

I found that the site is very easy to use. You can navigate easily by using the tabs at the top of each page. For example if you wanted to check to see if there were any coupon deals for Dell products you could just click on the coupons tab and then select Dell at the top of the page. Otherwise you could just scan through the whole list of coupons to possibly find a discount on an item that you want to purchase.

There’s also a tab for rebates. I love rebates. Sometimes you can get quite a discount on an item that has a rebate coupon.

There are thousands of items listed at Techbargains. Once you find an item that you want to buy you can read the product descriptions and even do product comparisons. I think you’ll find Techbargains quite helpful as you shop for holiday gifts for your loved ones this year.

Pet health insurance?

November 22, 2007 by Tricia

Now that we’re getting a puppy I’m happy that I’ll finally have a pet that I can get health insurance for … you see I’ve always had reptiles and I don’t think there’s any companies that offer health insurance for reptiles. I can see them not offering life insurance policies for any pets, but all animals should be able to have health insurance coverage shouldn’t they?

We’ve spent a lot of money at veterinarian offices over the years caring for our pets. Now that we’re getting a dog I think I might seriously look into those pet policies.

Do any of you have health insurance policies for your pets? Are they worth it or do you find that you spend more on them than you would with your normal vet visits?

I vow to enjoy the perks of Vegas next time I go

November 21, 2007 by Tricia

Now that I’m starting to feel a little bit better (remember I got sicker on my trip to Vegas?) I’m feeling a little down that I wasn’t able to take advantage of being in Vegas.

Our hotel room overlooked the lovely pool area and while I don’t think we ever saw anyone swimming the weather was nice enough each day that we saw plenty of people soaking up the sun on the very comfortable looking lounge chairs.

Our hotel had a spa, hot tubs, all kinds of services and shops that we never used or visited … it’s really kind of sad when I think that the only service we really used was room service!

The next time we go to Vegas I think we’ll stay in a nicer hotel – ours had lots of amenities but wasn’t that nice over all and as I said the internet network sucked. So we’ll staying in a luxury hotel and take advantage of some of the perks. Hopefully we’ll also stop in a Casino and try some games or machines too rather than just walking through the casino. We did however manage to get ourselves escorted out of a casino though!

I made sure I’m insured

November 8, 2007 by Tricia

Oh speaking of Vegas … I’m glad I took out medical insurance. I’ve been so sick with my crohns in the past week that I seriously thought about canceling my trip. I actually should have since I ended up having a bowel obstruction. Believe me, I don’t want to end up in a hospital in the States but if I do I did take out insurance.

I think my husband wishes we got a new term life insurance quote! He’s terrified of flying and I’m sure he thinks that something bad will happen either on the way there or the way back! Me I’m more worried that something will happen while we’re there such as me getting sicker! I’m also the worlds biggest clutz too so you just never know what will happen with me around.

Keep some good thoughts going that our flight and short stay in Vegas go well?

I want to start traveling more

November 2, 2007 by Tricia

Speaking of traveling, if my husband doesn’t get too panicked while flying next week, and if my ears make it through, I’d like to start doing a lot more traveling. After all, when I purchased our tickets and hotel package for Vegas we ended up getting a membership with a travel club. I figure we might as well take advantage of the deals on packages, flights and hotel stays if we’re up for it.

I’ve never been to New York city so I’m picturing us going there for at least a long weekend, maybe a trip to Chicago on another extended weekend to see Chris’ brother and various other short vacations here and there too. Who knows, maybe we’ll even take a trip out west to Vancouver to see my brother and some of our friends too.

Can you tell that I’m sick of being cooped up in this house! Uh huh. Trying being sick for two years. I’ve got a yearning to travel, or well – just get out of here for a while.

One place that might be nice to visit is Pigeon Forge cabins in the Smokie mountains. The cabins look beautiful with hot tubs outdoors and beautiful scenery from every window. Perhaps we could make it a ski vacation?

Now that’s a laugh. The super klutz wants to go skiing. I’ll probably come back with a broken leg!
