George Costanza – a spokesperson?

January 19, 2010 by Tricia

Ha, I just heard that Jason Alexander is going to be the new spokesperson for jenny craig. Good for him!

I tend to stay up late at night – due to my Crohn’s pain for the most part, and as you probably know there isn’t much on TV late at night … so I often end up watching old reruns of Seinfeld and other old sitcoms. So I see a lot of the old “George”. Plus I did manage to catch one of the Curb Your Enthusiasm Seinfeld reunion shows and yes … Good ol’ George has gained some weight.

It’ll be nice to see if in a year or so if he’s all slimmed down. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him slim, Have you?

A quiet New Year’s eve and start to the year

January 4, 2010 by Tricia

Happy New Year!

I just realized that I didn’t write a New Years post to thank my regular readers and visitors for visiting this blog in 2009! Thank you for sticking around and leaving comments and being faithful visitors. I hope that my posts continue to entertain you in 2010.

So how did you celebrate New Years?

My husband and I had a quite evening. We’d had three rounds of guests in our house from the 20th of December through to the 31st and a family wedding, so once the last of our guests were safely on an airplane home we went into relaxation mode.

We had a nice dinner on New Years eve, followed much later by a glass of wine and a piece of Chocolate Fudge cheesecake at Midnight on New Years. During the evening we watched two movies that I’d taped earlier and then caught the tail end of Toronto’s New Years eve televised celebration just in time for the count down to midnight.

We spent Saturday and most of Sunday relaxing. I think we’re finally rested up and recovered from the holidays or at least I hope we are!

We hadn’t been planning to do anything over the weekend at all, but late yesterday afternoon we ran into one of our neighbors and they invited us in to have a drink for New Years and to see their latest renovations. They’d just finished redoing their kitchen and man, am I jealous! It’s beautiful and oh, they put in double copper sinks! I love the look of them! It seems like our neighbors are starting off the new year just right.

So … what did you do for New Years? Did you get together with friends and family or did you just have a quiet evening at home?

I need a TV in the bedroom

November 10, 2009 by Tricia

Do you ever feel so crappy that you just want to stay in bed? I feel that way a lot thanks to my Crohn’s and this strange tiredness that’s come over me in the last couple of weeks.

I’ve been thinking about it, and since we have an extra TV upstairs,, why not set it up so that I could actually stay in bed occasionally when I want to? All we need is a TV wall mount and we’d be all set. Yeah .. we don’t even have the TV set up … but if we got the wall mount and maybe put the TV on the wall across from the bed it would be great.

Not that I like watching day time TV though … LOL I guess we’d need to set up a DVD player too.

Strange Overload message on our Home Theater system

February 26, 2009 by Tricia

I’m starting to think that it’s time that we got a new home theater system. Our stopped working about a year and a half ago. Every time we turn it on it flashes a message that says something about it being overloaded.

We haven’t changed anything with how it’s set up since we installed it three or four years ago, by this I mean we didn’t add any additional equiptment that would be plugged into the home theater system. So it’s strange that it worked for about two years and then suddenly came up with an overloaded message.

It’s an older model, a Panasonic. We’ve tried calling the store where we bought it and they were no help. At first we thought that it might have had a fuse inside it that was blown but after reading the manual and looking the model up online we know that there’s no fuse and I haven’t found any information that will help with our problem.

So I guess it might be time to watch for a good home theater system to go on sale. Over the last few months we’ve looked at some brands when we’ve been in stores that sell them but they’ve been so expensive!

Does anyone know of a good Home theater system that might go for a good price? Or perhaps a cure for our “overload” problem on the Panasonic?

Not a great day

February 9, 2009 by Tricia

I’m nervous about Chris going back to work tomorrow. He’s seemed pretty good since he’s been home from the hospital – only occasionally complaining that he has a funny feeling in his chest or that his lungs feel weird … but the true test will be once he goes back to work. We’ve had so many bad times with his as yet undiagnosed heart problem that I guess it’s natural to worry.

I think the added stress of his illness hasn’t done me any good. My Crohn’s is acting up or else I’ve got a bug. I was up half the night with terrible stomach cramps and pain and it hasn’t been much better throughout the day. Plus my back is bad and I seemed to have hurt my left wrist somehow. Geez, I guess this isn’t the time for either Chris nor I to look into a term life quote! Better to wait until we’re both feeling better I think.

Plus, we’ve been taping shows that are on this evening on our PVR. We had been watching a long movie, but once it was done we started to watch the episode of House that we’d taped only to find that it’s a rerun due to the Presidential address … what Presidential address? It wasn’t listed on our TV’s guide at all. Grrr … so several of the shows we taped tonight are messed up and I had to find them playing later in the evening and retape them. Grrrr.

I guess I’m just grumpy today. I don’t feel well and I can’t even watch the TV show that I wanted to watch.
