I’m a bad Canadian

I think I’m a bad Canadian … why? Well, I’m one of the few who doesn’t like hockey.

Shame on me! I know … Not liking Hockey is almost a crime here in Canada. LOL Really. Or well, it sure seems like it when it comes to playoffs in this house.

As the Stanley Cup finals were going on my husband would say “we have to watch this game tonight there’s only two Canadian teams left in the playoffs” and then in the semi finals he’d say the same thing about Montreal being the only Canadian team left. Now there’s no Canadian teams in the finals, but Chicago is where his brother lives so we have to root for Chicago. LOL

The only thing working to my husband benefit this week is that there are very few show that we normally watch on TV. Most had their finales last week or the week before last. Of course, even if all our regular shows were on and if my husband really wanted to watch a whole game he could use one of our other two TV’s … but there not HD so he doesn’t like that option. We could also PVR the game, but to him that’s just not the same.

I guess I’ll be stuck watching game three of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight but frankly I think I’d rather be looking up the best treatment for hemorrhoids instead.

Yup … I’m a bad Canadian.





It’s going to be a busy summer!

Last summer my husband and I decided to try to go to as many local events as we could manage. Luckily we live in Toronto and there’s a lot of events and festivals happening throughout the summer. Pretty much every weekend actually!

We had so much fun last year that we decided to do it again this year. I think there’s a jazz festival beginning this week and then later in the month we’ll go to WoofStock (biggest dog festival in North America) and a few Ribfests.

That should fill up the weekends in June! When July and August come around we’ve got Carribanna (with cool stainless steel drums ) street festivals, Taste of the Danforth, more music festivals and so on.

Since we’re not planning a “real” vacation this summer I think this is the best way to get out and do things and have fun in the city. Most of the events are free or fairly inexpensive so it won’t cost us much at all.

Dogs can sleep in the strangest positions!

I feel like this dog right now … I’m so tired I could fall asleep standing up or in just about any weird position. LOL

He does look relaxed though, doesn’t he? isn’t it funny how animals and babies can sleep at the drop of a hat and as I said above, in the strangest of positions?

It’s funny .. a few weeks ago I was searching for a treatment for wrinkles or rather wrinkle prevention … but this dog looks like he could use a wrinkle treatment too! Gravity is not a wrinkled dogs friend!

Dog and cat make a big mess in the house!

OMG … if this was my dog that had made this mess I think I’d be really mad. LOL

Can you imagine coming home to find out that your cat and dog had fun all day ripping up a case of toilet paper or maybe paper towels? Who knows what else they got into that day too … it certainly looks like there’s at least two rooms to clean up!

I think I’d rather search all day long for the best acne treatment rather than deal with that mess! LOL

My dog has only made little messes … like the one time she got a hold of the fake fur collar on my winter coat and bit some tufts of fake fur off of it … nothing like this!

Have you ever come home to a mess like this thanks to your cat, dog or maybe even your kid?

Wake to the smell of bacon – yum

Waking up to a plate of bacon

I love the taste the of bacon … I adore bacon … there’s nothing better than waking up to the smell of bacon cooking. Yummmmmm

Even though I said that I love bacon I rarely eat it. My husband and I only seem to cook it about twice a year or so. A few other times a year we’ll have a take out hamburger or some other type of food that has bacon in it … but considering how much I love it, I rarely have it.

Maybe I should treat myself to bacon a little more often?

I’m certain that if I woke up to a plate of bacon like that beside me in bed and ate it all I’d probably be asking myself ” does alli work “? LOL

Do you enjoy bacon every now and then? Have you ever eaten as much as in the photo all by yourself?
