Wordless Wednesday

I don’t know what you think, but to me it looks like this kittens head is way too big for it’s tiny body!

Just look at that tiny tiny little tail! So Cute!

Bowl full of Kittens

December 10, 2007 by Tricia

Aw aren’t they adorable? I think there might be three kittens in that dog food bowl. If you look closely below the second kittens head I think that’s the ears of another kitty.

I’ve never been much of a cat person, but I adore kittens. They are so cute and so very sweet and playful.

I don’t think my puppy likes cats much. When we went to the breeders to pick her out of the litter there was a cat in the barn. It actually walked around the top of the pen and the only puppy to bark at it or perhaps even notice it was of course our little Midnight.

The only other time we’ve observed her around cats has been at the vets. They have a resident cat and she barks at it and they also have a few young cats and kittens in cages near the front window and she went nuts barking at them.

Of course she barks at other dogs and people when we’re walking but I’m certain those are hello barks. The bark she gives the cats she’s encountered is a little different. I guess as she gets older we’ll have a better idea if she really does dislike cats or not and what some of her barks really mean.

No flying vacations for a while I guess

December 10, 2007 by Tricia

I was just saying on my other blog that now that we have a puppy we probably won’t be flying anywhere for vacation for the next several months. Puppy needs to be house trained and grow out of her chewing and teething stage before we could even ask anyone to look after her while we are away.

So that means she’ll have to come with us on vacation if we even go on vacation. I guess we’ll be doing road trips and we’ll be trying to find pet friendly places to stay.

I’ve always wanted to go to Carolina. It’s a long drive, but not too bad. Perhaps a vacation on the Outer Banks might be nice. I’m sure that there must be some pet friendly cabins or motels there.

Do you know of any pet friendly vacation spots that aren’t too far from where I am here in Ontario?

Those As Seen On TV products

December 10, 2007 by Tricia

The other day I mentioned that I sometimes end up channel surfing late at night and end up seeing some of those as seen on tv ads and infomercials on TV.

Have you ever watched any of those commercials? Some of the products actually look like they are really good ideas and that they might make it a bit easier to get some things done around the house.

Items like the one touch jar opener might be good to have around. Back when I was a jeweler my hands were incredibly strong. I did diamond cut designs on jewelery by hand. My husband was also a jewelery but unlike me he didn’t have to grip a precision tool all day long so I think my hands were stronger than his at that time. I could open the jars he couldn’t! Now my hands aren’t so strong so it might be great to have something around for those tough jars.

Steamers – I’d love a steamer to clean my oven and to clean so many other items in my home that have tough ground in stains. I’m sure the steam would help.

What As seen on TV products have you seen advertised that you’d like to try?

Thanks to travel insurance I could have canceled my trip

December 6, 2007 by Tricia

I’m so glad I bought travel insurance when I went to Las Vegas. I knew it was a good idea. I’ve got Crohns and I’d been very sick for about a month and a half before we left for our trip. In fact, I’d even been in the hospital for a bowel obstruction just a few days before we got on our flight!

I shouldn’t have gone on the trip at all given the circumstances, but I went anyway … knowing that I’d purchased the deluxe medical insurance and travel insurance package. I could have canceled my trip and the travel insurance would have allowed me to get a refund since I really was sick and had proof of my illness. Without the insurance I would have lost money if I’d canceled.

As it was I got even sicker while in Vegas. I seriously considered seeing a doctor or going to a hospital!

Once we got home I continued to be sick for about a week longer then I started to feel better. Thats when we got the puppy and now due to lack of sleep and too much activity I think my Crohns is starting to act up again. I can’t seem to win.

Do you purchase travel insurance when you buy your tickets for a flight? Have you ever had to use your insurance?
