Rain rain go away!

April 26, 2011 by Tricia

Holy smokes I think we’re going to need an Ark if it keeps raining! Just this week alone here in Toronto we’re going to get close to 50 ml of rain! If this keeps up I’m going to have to figure out if boat clothing is what I think it is or not. LOL

Is it raining like crazy in your area too? I hear that by the end of the week or at least by the weekend that the weather is going to get better. I sure hope that it will … because I’m going to need some sun to dry off … it’s going to be pretty soggy around here by then!

A lot of friendly neighbors

April 15, 2011 by Tricia

I was outside earlier today, walking the dog around the block, and I ended up talking with my next door neighbor for about half an hour. Why is it all my close neighbors love to talk and talk and talk? Believe me .. it’s not me! LOL … it’s just a really friendly neighborhood I guess. I shouldn’t complain, I suppose.

Anyway .. my neighbor just left her job and right now she’s been staying home with their young toddler. I kind of already knew she or her husband must be home during the day with their child because there’s been a lot more day time noise next door lately. A lot more noise – believe me. Anyway .. she’s now looking for a new job and in the meantime she’s doing a bit of work from home. She might even do a complete change of career. She mentioned she was toying with the idea of possibly taking a medical assistance program which really would be a change of job for her since she’s in the computer field right now.

I guess sometime in the next few weeks she’ll decide what new job she’ll be doing or looking for, in the meantime she’s just trying to enjoy her extra time at home with her daughter. Oh and they’re also going to put up a new fence between our houses since the one that’s there is starting to fall down … so it’s probably good that she’ll be home when that’s going on too.

Are the people in your neighborhood friendly? Do you stop and talk with your neighbors or do you barely know the people that live near you?

Looking foward to a warm Sunday

April 9, 2011 by Tricia

The weather is going to be beautiful here in Toronto tomorrow. It’s suppose to get up to 20 Celsius! That’s about 68 F for my American Friends who don’t do metric. That’s a pretty high temperature for early April in Toronto. Not that I’m complaining … I’m quite happy about the almost summer like temperatures.

The only problem with tomorrow is that we’re expecting rain. Good for the garden, the grass etc .. but not so good if say we want to get outside and enjoy the nice temperatures we’ll be experiencing. Sigh ….

Well … I guess if It’s really raining I’ll be stuck inside, but at least I can have the windows and doors open to some degree to let in some much needed fresh air. That will be nice. Maybe I’ll get some spring cleaning done. That’s also a much needed task. The whole basement needs to be cleaned out, as do all of our closets, dresser drawers, computer cabinets and well .. everything … the whole house needs a good cleaning from top to bottom really. If tomorrow ends up being an “inside” day I think the cleaning will begin … if not … I think I’ll be out in the garden tidying up the garden beds.

Are you having are “warm” Sunday too? What are you up to?

An Easter get together

April 6, 2011 by Tricia

Well I guess I know what we’re doing for Easter this year. We were just invited to my in-laws for Easter dinner.

Now I need to figure out what I’m going to bring to the meal. I always bring something – either part of the main meal or a dessert. I actually came across some Sharis Berries discounts so I was thinking of getting some chocolate covered berries delivered to the house just before Easter. That might work out perfectly.

What are your plans for Easter? Are you having a big Easter meal with friends and family?

Time to shop for new clothes

March 30, 2011 by Tricia

I think I’m going to go shopping for some new clothes this weekend. I know for sure that whatever I do I’m going to get my haircut! My hair just grows like a weed and it seems like in the last week it’s become unmanageable so if it continues to grow like this it’s going to be a shaggy mess in a couple of weeks … or at least it will feel like that to me.

So … a hair cut and some shopping are in my plans for the weekend. There’s this urban clothes shop that I’ve been wanting to check out at the mall .. so this might be the perfect opportunity. My husband needs some clothes too. I guess it’s that time of year – a new season so time for new clothes.

Are you starting to feel the need to do some clothes shopping too? Is it just because it’s spring?
