My happy puppy

November 25, 2010 by Tricia

My dog is extremely happy this evening. Last weekend when we were at the pet store we bought her one of those huge bones – I think they’re called Mammoth bones and we just gave it to her.

Midnight is lying on her dog bed happily eating away at the bone. she stands up every once in a while to scrape parts of the bone with her paw. I think she’s trying to scrape off some of the tissue that’s still on the bone. I’m sure within an hour she’ll have any tissue and baked on flavor off the bone.

I love seeing her so happy. Every once in a while her tail just starts wagging as she gnaws on the bone. Yep – she’s one happy puppy!

Just a lazy Friday night

November 19, 2010 by Tricia

I’m feeling lazy tonight. I’m watching TV with my husband and as you can probably tell if you read my last post I’m feeling a little lazy .. I don’t want to cook dinner.

I taped the movie The Runaways last night and we’re watching it now. It just got to the part where the band was in Japan and Dakota Fanning as Cherie came out in lingerie on the stage. It’s the beginning of the end for Cherie I think. Good movie so far.

I grew up with the music of the Runaways and Joan Jett so the movie is bring back some memories.

What to make for dinner?

November 19, 2010 by Tricia

I’m trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight. It’s getting later and I just don’t feel like cooking.

I almost feel like just ordering food in or getting take out – but that’s too expensive. We are on a major budget! I think it’s time to rummage in the cupboards. I’m pretty sure I can come up with something easy for dinner – maybe some pasta?

Speaking of cupboards … I think I have to clean mine out this weekend. Earlier today I was looking at the back of one of my kitchen cupboards and I found some weight loss drinks that a friend had given me a few years ago to try. They’re probably not good anymore and I don’t need them .. so I guess I should get rid of them.

Ok .. better make dinner.

Do you shop at a bulk food store?

November 19, 2010 by Tricia

Over the past year I’ve been doing a lot of my grocery shopping in the bulk food store. Why? Well, it’s a little cheaper than the grocery store, and the bulk food store often carries organic products so the selection is sometimes better.

I buy things like peanuts, walnuts, cashews, and sunflower seeds and make my own nut mix at home. I also buy ground flax, organic honey and sometimes … candy. LOL

One thing that I’d like to buy during one of my visits to the bulk food store is dried acai berries. No don’t worry I’m not buying into the whole acai berry diet scam or anything … I’d just like to try them because I know they’re good for you. I’m just a little nervous to try them. You see I end up being allergic to so many things I’m afraid I might try acai berries and end up being allergic to them. That wouldn’t be good.

Do you shop for things in a bulk food store? If you do, what kinds of things do you buy?

Survivor is getting interesting – sort of

November 17, 2010 by Tricia

Have you been watching Survivor this season?

I have and I’ve just been shaking my head at how all of the alliances change from one episode to the next.

I don’t know why, but this season – Survivor Nicaragua- is one where I really don’t have a favorite character. In fact, I don’t really like any of the people in this season’s Survivor.

Everyone is just back stabbing every one. I don’t know … I just don’t like it when people play the game that way. I keep waiting to see if one of the two individual immunity idols will get played – they’re kind of like cheap life insurance in survivor. I Know Brenda was hoping that Sash was going to give her his idol in tonight’s episode to save her – but of course he didn’t. I knew he wouldn’t.

So for those of you who are watching Survivor .. what do you think? Is the winner going to be another woman? It’s been a female winner the last several seasons.
