I think one of my friends is addicted to buying things online. Ok maybe not just online, but she buys a ton of stuff online. I think she not only enjoys spending money but also likes getting packages delivered to her home almost daily!
It’s kind of funny and sad at the same time. I was over at her place recently and she was doing a search trying to find a way to buy diet pills online while we talked. She’d told me that earlier that day she was buying gifts for her family. The gifts however end up in one room of her house – stored and it seems never given away. I guess she’s a hoarder too.
I’ve been trying to get her out of the house so maybe she’ll spend a bit less time online but it’s not easy convincing her.
Have you ever had a friend or family member that had a problem with shopping or spending money? What did you do to help them?

We remodel custom kitchens in Southern California. Often the homeowners who have a big budget are ordering the most expensive kitchen items “ONLINE” and they show up via UPS every day we are there. Of course, we are expected to install many of these purchases. I see how a “project” stimulates the inclination to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND…

I used to be addicted to shopping online. Getting the things I bought was like receiving a little present. I don’t even know where half that stuff is anymore, its been lost/thrown away/packed somewhere. My mother has hoarding issues, and I’ve been helping her go through her things. She likes it best if I take them directly, though I’ve gotten her to accept giving things to charity.
