Wordless Wednesday
I love small cars but this one takes the cake. it’s got a face! Oh and if you look closely you’ll see that the seat covers also have faces – a mouse and a beaver i believe.
Isn’t it cute?

Chris was on vacation for the last two weeks and I just realized this morning that we didn’t even do the laundry once during his StayCation. LOL
It’s ok, we’re not smelly … we have lots of clothes. I guess I’ll have to put a few loads on tomorrow though!
We don’t have a dishwasher and we even managed to go several days without doing the dishes! By the time we did them on Saturday we had enough to fill both kitchen sinks.
I guess we were being lazy. We were going out and doing summery things in the city – like the hike I described in my Horses in the City post. We also had lots of drop in guests or went to visit relatives and friends during Chris’ vacation so we were busy, but in a relaxed kind of way. I guess that’s why my posts slowed down for a while too.
What did you do for your summer vacation – if you took one?

On Saturday Chris and I had a leisurely day. No plans, just enjoying a nice warm summer day.
Late in the afternoon Chris decided that we should go to a place called “Sunnybrook Farm”. It’s part of a park and there’s a horse stable there and I guess members can ride the horses. We just went there to observe. We wanted to take our puppy to see the horses. We thought she’d enjoy seeing a different kind of animal and I think we were right.
here’s one of the horse that was wandering around in the open coral.
I just love horses and I must admit that I haven’t seen one in person in a very long time. We stood watching the horses for quite a while, then we went for a hike in the adjoining park, through the forest and even into a creek with our dog.
That’s Chris and Midnight stumbling over rocks in the water. At least they got to cool off! It was a very hot day.

Late last night after Chris had gone to bed and the dog was fast asleep I started hearing this funny noise … blop, blop …. bloop … I’d been watching TV in the living room so I turned the TV volume down and got up to investigate the sound.
As it turned out it was the the upstairs shower head that was leaking. That makes two shower faucets that we have to replace. The one in the basement has always leaked. Chris is the main user of the basement shower and he’s tried to fix that leak several times, even new shower heads don’t help.
So what he does for the basements leaking shower head is to turn off the water supply to the shower after he’s used it. Luckily the water control for that shower is easily accessible since our basement isn’t finished.
I think the upstairs leak will be easier to fix just by replacing the shower head or a washer, but the basement is a problem. We’re planning on renovating the basement sometime in the near future and we’ll be redoing the plumbing when we do it so we might be able to get by with Chris’ fix for a while longer.
Don’t you hate leaky taps and shower heads?
