Last long weekend of summer

August 29, 2008 by Tricia

I think that we are going to have the last taste of summer this weekend. It’s been a strange year weather wise, from heavy heavy snows throughout the winter (we got at least twice as much as we normally do here in Toronto) to record breaking rainfall this summer, not to mention cooler temperatures too.

Most of July and August were a lot cooler than normal. The two main benefits we got out of this odd summer were the fact that we didn’t have to water our garden as much, thus saving a lot of money on water, and we didn’t run our air-conditioner anywhere near as much as we normally do, so that should decrease our energy bill.

This weekends going to be nice. It’s supposed to be warm right into the middle of next week or longer. I suspect that this might be our last bit of warm weather though as they keep saying we’re supposed to have an early winter … yeah, what else is new after the year we’ve already had! LOL

Even though we’ve had a strange cool and wet summer it’s hard to believe that we’ll soon be preparing for Thanks Giving and picking out Halloween costumes isn’t it?

Ah well … I’m going to enjoy this weekend as best I can! We might go up to my sister in laws cottage. We’ll take the dog and let her swim in the lake. It should be a good time for all!

Plus it’s my birthday next week, so I might as well start celebrating this weekend!

Do you have plans for Labor Day Weekend?
