Chris and I still need to plan some kind of vacation this summer. He hasn’t even booked any time off yet but at this point it looks like he’ll be off for either the first two weeks or August or the second and third week. He’s still waiting for a co-worker to decide on her vacation time … geesh!
I have a feeling that with the price of gas this year we won’t be taking a long driving trip, but you never know, maybe we’ll end up driving to Chicago again this summer. We did that two years ago when we went to visit Chris’ brother and we had a great time. I loved Chicago. Of course if we go out of the country I’ll get travel insurance at least for me since I have a chronic illness. I can’t take a risk that my Crohn’s won’t flare up while I’m away and I’d hate to end up paying huge hospital bills in the US.
Hmmm the other idea I had for a vacation was to perhaps rent a cabin somewhere near a lake. Yes I know all the good ones are probably booked by now, but I might be able to find something.
What are you doing for your summer vacation?

ahh vacation, that wonderful time of the year once again. After being cooped up inside all winter. I love your idea, renting a cabin. For me, that would mean heading up to the White Mountains since I live in New Hampshire. I love hiking, and fishing. I know a nice nature walk here that goes up to a beautiful waterfall. I find it very relaxing. I just need to remember bug repellent.

I’m afraid summer vacation isn’t in the cards for us, what with planning a wedding and all. We do plan to vacation next year, though…so that’s something to look forward to.
I hear you about the price of gas. Take heart, though – experts say it will probably go down again. We can only hope.
I’ve heard much talk of travel insurance for medical problems; it’s making me nervous, since I just thought/assumed that my health insurance (and the new insurance I’m getting after the wedding) covered a network for providers across the country. I’ll have to look into that. Good luck dealing with your Crohn’s…that’s a tough one.

I have a great idea for your summer vacation! Go on a safari in South Africa!
That’s what I did for my last vacation and it was fantastic! I did a self drive tour of Cape Town and that made it even more memorable.
If you have the time, do go!
