My laptop is getting slower and slower! I can barely stand to use it anymore. I’m only using about 40% of the hard drive and I’ve defraged recently but that didn’t help. Perhaps I need to get more laptop memory? I just don’t know.
What I do know is that I’m a prolific photographer and for most of the last year I’ve uploaded all of the digital photos that I take onto my laptop. Prior to this I usually uploaded my photos onto the desktop computer, but I rarely use that computer these days so the laptop is the main computer now. I thought that maybe all those photos were tying up the hard drive so I spent at least two hours this afternoon transferring photo folders to my desktop computer and then deleting the folder on the laptop.
I still have to transfer quite a few photo folders, but I do think the laptop is a little more responsive now. Perhaps freeing up more of the hard drive and getting more memory will help.
Anyone else have any other ideas?

Hi there,
Your notebook is probably burden with loads of Internet temporary files and Windows registry inconsistency. It could also be slow due to hidden spyware.
I used a neat tool called Advanced Windows Care from IOBit Freeware. There is a free personal version of it. That tools allow you to clean temp files, fix registry problems and clear spyware.
Hope it help.

It can be due to too many files executing at startup. I would suggest u to use Hijack tool and post it here. I can help you over this.

Hi,
What you describe is exactly what I experienced when my laptop started to become slower and slower until it got to the point of crashing all the time. It turned out that the problem was that my registry got corrupted with time. I created a blog about the process that I’ve been through and how I managed to fix my registry.
Feel free to check it out.
Thanks
Jack

Wipe it out. You need to do a format every once in a while in order to keep things running smoothly.
