Use a Natural Oxygen pool treatment and save money as well as the environment

May 9, 2008 by Tricia

I hope that everyone is enjoying the lovely spring weather. It’s been cool here so far this May, much cooler than April was if you can believe that, but I know that there are warm days on the way. Perhaps you live in an area where it’s already warm enough that you’ve started planning what you’ll do on those hot summer days?

I wish we had a pool, but our yard is far too small. A wading pool would have to suffice for us if we were hot enough to want to soak! Some of our friends do have pools and we’re lucky enough to be invited over for pool parties often enough each summer.

Our friends that have pools have been starting to to talk about getting their pools ready for the upcoming season. I’m sure those of you with pools have been thinking about getting them ready too.

If you have a pool or if you’ve been thinking about putting a pool in this year have you spent any time thinking about what kind of water treatment you’ll use? It’s one of the most important parts of pool maintenance from my understanding.

I’m all for environmentally friendly pool treatment systems. We garden organically and try to live as green as possible so it only makes sense that if we did have a pool we’d want the safest type of water treatment.

If you feel the same way or if you’re interested in learning more about eco friendly pool treatments you should take a moment to visit Ecosmartepool.com. They specialize in chlorine free pool filters and spas.

By now I think that just about everyone knows that chlorine treated water or pool systems aren’t very good for the environment.

I always thought that salt chlorinators were a safe alternative, but after reading some of the information and articles over at Ecosmartepool.com I know better!

Did you know that salt water pools actually use chlorine generators to keep the water clean. Chlorine generators require quite a bit of maintenance, some produce messy byproducts that isn’t easily disposed of, and as I said before Chlorine treatments really aren’t considered green.

Why not use a system that’s 100% chemical free? That’s were EcoSmarte comes in … They specialize in salt water, chlorine and hazardous chemical free pool systems. They also have a line of spa and pond systems as well that are equally chemical free.

EcoSmarte’s pool systems use natural oxygen to maintain the quality of the water in your pool. Natural oxygen systems are more effective than ones that use bacquacil or bromine, plus they are easier to use than chlorine based systems. Not only that they are also safer than ozone treatments too.

One of the other products that EcoSmarte sells is called EcoSmart filter glass media. This can be used for pool treatment systems.

One of the things that I like about EcoSmarte is that they are dedicated to protecting the environment. They actually donate 5% of their profits to environmental charities. They have a strong belief in their water treatment systems and are in fact, against Chlorine and Salt water based pool treatments.

There’s lots of good reason to consider switching to a natural oxygen based pool treatment system. One of them is the fact that you won’t be purchasing dangerous hazardous chemicals to maintain your pool system. That will not only make your pool maintenance storage area safer if you have kids or pets, but by not having to buy all those chemicals you’ll save a ton of money! Think about it!

Oh and you’ll save on your energy bill too. The EcoSmarte pool system is so energy efficient that it costs less than $1 a month to operate. Cool! You can reduce your carbon footprint with your energy savings!

If you’re thinking about visiting the EcoSmarte website to read some of their articles or perhaps thinking of contacting them to get one of their product brochures or a free quote you’ll be pleased to know that they also offer a 60 day satisfaction guarantee and a 5 year warranty on all purchases.

EcoSmarte definitely seems to be a company that believes in and stands by their product. Do visit the site if you have a pool or if you’re thinking of installing a pool in the near future.

Strawberry plants are flowering already!

May 9, 2008 by Tricia

Look at this! I took this photo about a week and a half ago – my strawberry plants are beginning to flower already!

IMG_3595

You know what that means don’t you? We’ll probably have strawberries by early June! Yeah baby, fresh strawberries. Yum.

the best thing about the strawberry plants that we have is that they keep producing fruit well into late September or even early October! Some strawberry plants only produce one or two crops early in the season, but ours are every producing ones.

I can’t wait to taste a fresh strawberry from my garden. I just hope my puppy doesn’t get to them before we do!

Need inspiration for celebrity blogging

May 6, 2008 by Tricia

You know, I’ve got a celebrity related blog, but I haven’t written in it much lately.

Oh there’s lots of celebrity news that I could be reporting, but I think when just about all the young stars and their dogs were in drug rehab I just felt “What’s the point” in regards to writing about it.

Even though I haven’t written in that blog much this year at all it’s still quite popular. It gets a lot of hits every day. I really should get it going again. I guess I’ll have to try to find some inspiration and hope that the young stars stay out of trouble.

Flowers springing up everywhere

May 6, 2008 by Tricia

My garden is looking lovely this year. It seems that almost each day a new plant has sprung up or a flower has started to bloom.

Here’s a close up of one of the tulip buds that was about to bloom a week ago when I took this photo. There are even more flowers filling the garden now.

Our puppy has been pretty good about staying out of the garden.

A month ago we started saying “no garden’ every time she went near our flower beds or anyone else’s when we were walking her. However lately she’s been sticking her nose into the garden to smell things. I guess even she can’t resist the smell of all the new plants that have been springing up.

Strange code in my WordPress files

May 4, 2008 by Tricia

A few weeks ago I noticed that some of my wordpress blogs said that I was using version 2.5. Odd … I haven’t upgraded to the newest version of WordPress yet and the blogs that said I was using 2.5 weren’t even upgraded to 2.33 yet either.

I think I’ve finally figured out what happened. On April 10th I must have been hit by a bug … maybe through my FTP program or by visiting someones website. Several files in each of my blogs (those that say version 2.5 and all the rest) have a line of code in them that wasn’t there before.

So the last few days have been spent going over each file, and all the files on my CMS run website as well as another website to remove the added code. I’m almost done repairing the files. Unfortunately the blogs that say they are using the highest version of WP still say that even though I’ve cleaned all the files.

Weird eh?

Another thing that I’ve come to realize this past few days is that I need more ram in my laptop as I’ve had tons of windows open in my browser as well as several programs running at once as I’ve searched out the affected files on my sites and the computer just gets slower and slower.

I know how to upgrade a desktop computer but I’ve never upgraded a laptop. This should be fun!

Anyone else find odd lines of code at the top of their WP files – even theme files – in the last while? Maybe there’s a new bug going around. Whatever it is my antivirus program didn’t catch it!
