More people should use portable water filters

August 10, 2007 by Tricia

Have you heard that several cities across the US have banned water bottles? By this I mean the use of store bought bottles full of water.

I’ve always thought that it was such a waste of money to buy bottled water. Sure, if you’re really thirsty and don’t have access to running water they’re handy, but since the water used in most bottles of water is just plain local tap water why pay extra for it?

I’ve always carried my own bottled water from home. We actually double filter our tap water. I don’t really think there’s anything wrong with Toronto tap water. I believe it’s tested regularly and that it poses no danger. Still we filter it on the tap and that filtered water goes into a Brita water filter that we put in the fridge. The water then tastes just like fresh spring water!

For those of you who don’t filter your tap water and or can’t buy bottled water anymore you might be interested in portable water filters. It’s a bottle that has a filter right inside it to help purify your water. I love this idea! I wish more people would use them instead of being wasteful and purchasing so many throw away plastic bottles.

Yes,water filter bottles can be a great alternative to buying bottled water. Have you considered Seychelle Stainless Steel water filter bottles from the USA. They can even take out a high percentage of fluoride.
