One step forward, two steps back?

June 18, 2007 by Tricia

I was hoping that I’d have been more productive today. I got up early, after not much sleep, because I had an early doctors appointment. When I got home I was feeling my lack of sleep but I pushed on and got a few things done – the best of which being getting all of our bills paid.

I hate paying bills. It’s not because we don’t have the money to pay the bills … it’s just that I don’t like paying them. Probably because I think we’re being charged way too much for many of the things that I just paid for this morning – cable, electricity … both have doubled since the first year we were in our house!

A while after that a wave of tiredness hit me that I couldn’t ignore. It didn’t help that I wasn’t feeling all that well again. I had an awful week last week, but surprisingly I suddenly started feeling better around 5 pm on Saturday and managed to get a lot of gardening work done over the weekend. I must have over did it though because I’m back to feeling crummy. Not as bad as last week though! Small blessing I guess.

If this keeps up I’m not sure how I’ll ever get anything done. I must start feeling better – and getting better sleep.

Shopping online for furniture

June 18, 2007 by Tricia

Do you shop online?

I never used to, but in the past two years I have found that I have been shopping online more and more often, and for a variety of items.

The reason why I’m bringing this up is because I’m interested in redecorating some of the rooms in our house once we finish our renovations. Considering that I’ve had great success purchasing a number of other items online, why not try my hand a purchasing furniture as well?

If you’ve considered this too, you might want to take a moment and visit GreatPricedFurniture.com. They have a large selection of Furniture for every room in the house. You’ll find furnishings for the bedroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, babies nurseries and the home office, specific furnishings for children, as well as artwork to decorate your walls.

I’ve found this site very easy to navigate. Plus, when you select a type of furniture that you’d like to look at, perhaps bedroom furniture, you’ll be taken to a page that breaks everything down into sub-categories with thumbnail images of the type of furnishings in that category.

The bedrooms in our home are very small and I’ve been trying to think of ways to make them look more spacious yet continue to be fully functional. Browsing through the site I just found a section on daybeds. I’d considered daybeds in the past but hadn’t thought of them again for quite a while. Now I see that Great Priced Furniture has three whole pages of daybeds to choose from!

Now that’s something you don’t see in a retail store. Retail stores usually only have a small selection of each type of item. The beauty of shopping online is that you can browse through a stores whole inventory.

The prices of the daybeds look to be quite reasonable and they, just like all the rest of the furnishings sold at this online store, are made by brand name manufactures and are of high quality.

Being in Canada I always check online stores to see if they will deliver to my area and I was pleased to see that Great Priced Furniture does deliver to Canada and international addresses as well as across the continental US.

The store also offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

All in all this seems to be a great online store from which to purchase new furniture for your home. Visit the store and see what you think.

People abusing do followers kindness

June 18, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve been noticing a trend that disturbs me lately. I run the do follow blogroll and of course my sites are listed on it. In the past week there have been a number of people going around and leaving comments on all of my blogs and using website addresses rather than blog addresses in their signature.

Now, yes, I realize that no everyone has a blog, and some website owners do like to read blogs and leave comments. That’s not my beef. It’s people going around listing various different pages of their website in their signature and leaving comments that either don’t really go well with the post, or comments such “oh with the title of that post and your blog description I thought I’d find something like that here”. Maybe innocent enough, but when you see practically the same comment on a few posts on the same blog or on a few different blogs that you own you start to believe that people are just coming by to leave a link since your blog follows.

I love getting comments on my posts. However I’m starting to feel a bit used.

The do follow blogroll has been copied on to several sites and the people that are abusing the gift of links that follow are not members of the blogroll.

I set my blogs to follow because I want to reward my commenter’s for participating in the discussion and for hopefully being regular visitors. Those of us who have chosen to remove the nofollow tags from our blogs lose a tiny bit of our sites PR every time someone leaves a comment.

I would hope that those that leave comments can see why we want valid comments and not just spam to promote another persons site or to get a free link.

If you are following the blogs on the Do Follow Blogroll and leaving comments please only leave valid comments that add to the conversation of the post and don’t abuse our kindness.

Greek Shirts for Sororities and Fraternities

June 15, 2007 by Tricia

Want to visit a cool site and get a shirt for your sorority or fraternity? Perhaps your child, relative or friend is in sorority?

greekt-shirts.com carries a great line of greek shirts. You can choose from shirts with printed logos and designs, sewn on sorority or fraternity letters, or embroidered letters.

Visit the site today and check out their selection of T-Shirt styles too.

You can submit your own design or go through the site and find a design that’s perfect for the sorority or fraternity that you have in mind. Once you’ve chosen your design just follow the step by step instructions in order to pick out the design of the shirt, style, sizes and quantity.

I’ve found that the minimum order is 20 shirts. Creating that many shirts would be a great gift for your sorority or fraternity members.

Couch Potato

June 15, 2007 by Tricia

I spent the day yesterday on the couch. I never did get dressed. Nope. I stayed in my comfy PJ’s and just vegged out.

I’ve had an awful week. I have Crohns and it’s been acting up terribly. I’ve had little sleep in the past two weeks because of it. In fact, yesterday I’d stayed up all night because of the pain, and just as I was going to go to bed to try to get some sleep the pain suddenly got a lot worse. Knowing I couldn’t sleep until pure exhaustion took over I just stayed on the couch watching TV until I finally drifted off.

I didn’t really wake up until 6 p.m. yesterday. I still felt wiped out too.

I hate having days and weeks like this. It’s terrible.
