I was in huge debt because I did so much shopping! I didn't realize how much I spent till I looked at the bills.

Sandy we don't like to use our charge card much ... especially now when my husband is going through three two week periods of lay offs at work .. we don't have a cent to spare, but what we did spend over the holidays was spent with money that we had so we won't have any extra bills to worry about come January etc.

I can't seem to get away from this theme about people over spending, bills coming in etc. Every blog I've hit this am seems to be spreading gloom and doom. I actually do use the charge card, for as much as possible, rarely do I have cash in hand. I recommend others do the same. Almost all charge cards nowdays have means of getting money back, getting points that can be turned into goods and services. We've done very well for multiple years with the money we save because we do use our charge cards. I could list the household items we've gotten from points as well. The trick is to be disciplined, to truly know what you can spend on the card and pay it off each month so you're not paying interest.
