Potted plants on my front porch
Each year, in early summer, I spend some time planting annuals in large pots to put on or near my front porch. I also do all of the hanging baskets and window boxes at the same time. It’s quite a chore as I use window boxes along the side of my driveway between my house and the neighbors. The boxes are on the ground, but they work well to create a large display of flowers in the otherwise dark driveway. (I plant impatiens in those planter boxes). I’m quite happy with my flower arrangements this year. Here’s some pictures of the planters closest to my front door. As you can see the planters are filled with Petunias, Geranium, Impatiens and Spikes. Having a potted planter near the front steps isn’t necessary, but I think one or two well placed planters help make the front of a house look more welcoming.
