Our Lab puppy sure has grown!

Wordless Wednesday

Midnight at 15 weeks old:

Midnight our Lab puppy

Midnight – a day short of 11 months old (44 weeks)

Midnight relaxing on couch

When she was only 15 months old she barely took up one cushion on our couch and less than a third of the width. Now that she’s 11 months old and much much bigger she takes up more than one couch cushion (more like half the couch when she stretches out!) and almost the full width of the cushion.

BTW she was watching TV while chewing on a toy in both pictures. She loves sitting on the couch and watching TV with us.

She’s grown a lot in the 7+ months that we’ve had her, yet she’s still a little on the small side for a Lab of her age. That’s ok though … she’s very strong. I can’t imagine how much worse it would be to be dragged around by her on a walk if she were even bigger!

She’s cute though! Or I think she is, anyway!

Your story sounds very familiar. You should go to my July 22nd entry, “My Life is going to the dogs” http://justcallmewoman.blogspot.com/2008/07/my-life-is-going-to-dogs.html

Our Bernese Mountain Dog has more than quadrupled in size. He turns 1 in a week and has a whole other year to reach full size. Long ago we opted to keep him off the couch. If he sat on it there would be no room for us.

Its not just you; she is very cute. I think all black labs should have red collars. Your dog reminds me of my sister’s dog who lived with me for a year, although she was a black lab & dalmation mix. But she was mostly black with a white patch on her belly. I got her (the dog, not my sister) when she was 55 days old and she was a tiny little thing back then. But man did she grow.
