I took this photo of the Boardwalk at the beach in Toronto last August. It was an overcast August day. Well, if I remember correctly it was more than overcast. It rained most of the day. Still we had relatives in town and they wanted to meet some of our other friends at the Beach Club so off we went.

We ended up sitting outside on the patio drinking beer as the rain fell upon us. We were under umbrellas but as you know when it rains out the water drips off the edges of the umbrella and I ended up sitting in one of the drippy areas! It was still a fun day.

So this is Toronto’s boardwalk. It’s wooden. I’m certain with our weather they must have to replace several of the boards each year. It must cost the city quite a bit of money but it’s such a lovely area and so well loved by city residents and tourists alike that I’m sure we’ll have the boardwalk for a long time to come.

I’m not sure how long the boardwalk is, but it’s got to be at least 3 miles long if not more.

Probably from Spring onward, once the weather gets nice, we’ll be talking our puppy down to the beach and the boardwalk every weekend. I’m sure she’ll love to swim in the water and walk along the beach.

Lovely shot – still I would prefer a warmer place for my weekend picnics ;-)

it’s nice to have a boardwalk before hitting the sand. it’s wide and definitely a big help to beach lovers.

    happy weekend! :)

Boardwalks seem so romantic. I immediately thought of the song, “under the boardwalk”. Good choice for wooden.

Three miles of boardwalk?!!! Wow! It’s a good shot, too, with all the lines and the sand and the bricks above. I like it.

I MUST visit Toronto again. I’ve learned so much more from your blog and others. This is a “must see.”
