This past fall I didn’t clear out all the dead plants and now that winter is here in full force it’s interesting to take a look at the various plants when they have snow and or ice on them.

The above photo is of one of my Monkshood plants. This is a very poisonous plant who’s flowers bloom in autumn. It’s very pretty when it’s stalks are covered in rows of hooded flowers.

I fear that I’ll probably have to get rid of my Monkshood this year though. We have a puppy and I plan on trying to keep her out of the garden beds, but we all know accidents can happen and given how curious young dogs can be it’s probably safer if I remove any truly toxic plants from my garden … as much as I hate to lose a nice plant.

    Thanks, but no thanks. I have quite a bit of it myself…unfortunately this year it has some kind of disease…which I understand is pretty unheard of…I can’t figure out what the problem is, or how to treat…ugh.
