An interesting bud
I always thought that this was an interesting picture of a rose bud. I took this photo a couple of years ago. The rose is Just Joey, a rose that has truly lovely very large blooms, and a scent that’s worthy of taking a moment to smell.

Ah, I miss my roses! This year I only had a few. Earlier in the year I was fostering some Beagle puppies for a local animal rescue group and they ended up chewing up most of my rose bushes. Most of them survived, but no roses this year. Thankfully, they are pretty tough and should be okay by next year. If they can survive the desert heat, some pruning shouldn’t faze them to much.
