Stella’s a little wet

Yellow day lily

I decided to add this site to Green Thumb Sunday … You know I take a lot of photos – why not, eh?

This is a Stella Dora day lily. As with many of my flower photos these days I happened to take this while outside on a rainy day a couple of weeks ago. The petals are covered in water droplets.

I think everyone has Stella Dora. They might be a bit of a stereotype, but they are pretty, they re-bloom and they are easy flowers to grow. I have a few other types of day lilies as well and I enjoy each and every one of their blooms.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

I love taking photos in the rain or just after the rain. The raindrops seem to enhance the photos. It is sometimes hard to balance an umbrella in one hand and a camera in the other. Great photo of the daylily … no matter how common they are, they are still beautiful.

Along with everyone else, I love flower photos with raindrops. It’s just so refreshing. Thanks for this one.

Must confess that I don’t have Stella Dor. I do have the old time landscape red, Sammy Russell and other ancients. We are thrilled with rain this evening.

It is very pretty. I like touching flowers when they have a little bit of rain on them.
